Mr Georgios Papadppoulos MD was the surgeon who operated on my prostate, I met him for the first time at the Kent and Canterbury hospital on the day of my operation. He was absolutely thorough on the benefits and the possible pitfalls of my operation and had time to allow me to ask questions, after my operation he came to my bed and chatted about what he had done, and that it was a successful operation. I was honestly delighted to meet him again at his post op clinic at Folkestone, I was anxious to thank him as the quality of my life was so much improved after what he had done, The effect of the operation has healed and I now enjoy something as simple as having a pee, a proper pee and not needing one again for quite a while, I now also enjoy a full nights sleep without having to get up to the toilet, I’m very greatfull to Mr Papadopoulus MD and the NHS for the improvement to my quality of life.

Mr Georgia Papadopoulos MD FEBU FRCS I first saw the above doctor in April. He listened to me was extremely professional and caring. I had to come back for a coloscopy. I was very scared and anxious but the care from the doctor and the nurse was reassuring. I had a severe bladder infection which I was prescribed medication and then came back for a biopsy. I cannot express how fantastic the care was it was the best I have ever received.. A massive thank you. Kind Regards Julie Stone

I am a regulation 68 year old male. I have never smoked, always tried to stay fit and do my best to keep off the weight. I have never been ill and my contact with Hospitals has been minimal throughout my life. Imagine the shock to be told my bladder was housing a very large Tumour. From then on you´re in the hands of the experts. From the first day I was given information on what I could expect in terms of treatment. What followed was the investigation and extent of my condition. This led to my first visit to Clark Ward and my introduction to Georgios Papadopoulos. Just before my visit to the Theatre he attended and gave me the complete scenario. There is one thing worse than knowing you have this thing and that´s not knowing. He spelt out the risks and the worse case outcome. What he did convey gave me confidence and left me with a positive outlook. After the operation he visited me and told me what had been found. A couple of weeks later I was at the Morna Jones outpatient clinic. Lovely Lady who explained the detail , gave me an explanatory leaflet and then announced your back again for a second operation. The tumour has been contained and Mr Papadopoulos wants to make sure all remnants have been removed. Back for a second visit to the Theatre and once again on the following day my surgeon was back at the bedside giving me positive news. 5 weeks later and I´m back in outpatients and there´s my medical file and a 30 minute explanation of my condition , recovery programme and best/ worst case outlook. My family were with me and they were taken along the journey by Georgios who just gave you confidence it would be controlled and managed from then on. The team in Clark Ward and the Administration at the Hospital have my greatest admiration . They work long hours in trying circumstances. My experience has been good and I know I´ve been lucky and to some extent I´ve Dodged the Bullet. I remain very thankful and grateful to the whole Urology team and will continue to be so, as long as my condition remains
